Buying overseas is stressful, so understandably our clients, who were making the move to France permanently, had enlisted the help of a French mortgage broker, based near where they were buying. Sadly, that broker had misunderstood their situation and applied for the wrong mortgage and they got refused. By the time the bank and the broker had communicated all this to the clients, they had already missed the deadline set in their compromis de vente.
